Ebook About High King Aleksander D’Vairedraconis prefers the comforts of home, rarely leaving his estate. While forthright by nature, his sexuality is a secret Aleksander guards—even his best friend is unaware. With the possibility of his mate showing up at his large estate in Arizona next to impossible, Aleksander focuses on family and building more wealth to allow them to flourish. Duke Rafferty Kestledraconis is new to the Council of Sorcery and Shifters and is learning what he can about this fresh start. His life revolves around pleasing his royal father and brothers, and he rarely explores past their plot of land. Unable to refute an order given by his king, he travels with his eldest sibling to the remote D’Vaire sanctuary, where to his bewilderment, he discovers that his mate is the only High King in the dragon realm.Aleksander and Rafferty are ill-prepared for the reality of being mates and unready to take the final step of being fully joined, but together, they slowly build something worth protecting. Circumstances soon spin out of control, testing their fortitude and straining their wills. In the end, they must cling to hope if they want to be together—it will take everything that rests in the hearts of the High Kings to honor the call of Fate.Book Heart of the High King (D'Vaire, Book 19) Review :
I really enjoyed the book I have been waiting for forever :) Yes, Alexsander finally gets his mate.I especially liked that they are acting again as a sanctuary, but I feel that the raccoon shifter (I am so sorry, I can't remember his name) was accepted very quick and was offered the potion entirely too quick. Jeremiah is a different story, as he's been know to all of them for a good while and he helped Elf.But what made me deduct a star is the way Noirin was treated in this book. For all that she is one of the founding members and a seneschal and an awesome character that was overlooked before, her meeting with her mate was not glossed over, but non existent. We heard he was coming to the sanctuary and a month later the mating ceremony. On top of that he's been an ass to Rafe for no reason whatsoever, and especially after it was clear who hurt him. Why would he choose to believe the other brother when Rafe is the mate of his High King, I will not understand.Last, but not least, in the treatment of Noirin, we didn't even get a discussion between her and her mate after everything came out. It was simply said they made up.While I understand that the main characters were Sander and Rafe and their story, I feel a few more pages to treat Noirin right would've made the book great If the 19 books in this epic tale of dragons, wizards, and shifters. I've waited to read Alexander's story. This tale of love wasn't going to be some simple tale, and I was so happy to find it wasn't. The pair so suited for each other had to overcome so much to go d their way back into each others arms. I love the wolves and their part of the story. love won't give away the best parts, but so worth the read. I can't wait to find out who Mac will spend his very long life with.I hope his tale of love suits him as well as Alexander's had him.thank you for your truly epic ability to spin such wonderful takes of love and willingness to keep fighting for love and acceptance your characters have. Thank you Jessamyn Kingley for giving us this series to get lost in.
